IMMIGRATION AND HEALTH INITIATIVE (IAHI)

The Immigration and Health Initiative was created in 2004 for the purpose of meeting the research interests of UPH faculty and students working on immigrant health issues in the US and abroad. Since then, the Initiative has been a galvanizing force for scholars, professionals, activists and students committed to developing innovative research projects, teaching and advocacy curricula on immigration and health. Among our goals and activities we:

  • Conduct groundbreaking research on the health needs of immigrants and their children.
  • Develop teaching curricula and training guidelines.
  • Organize workshops, symposia and conferences.
  • Support partnerships with national and international academic centers and community organizations, and advocate for immigrant rights.
